Dynamics provides a powerful tool to unify the various components of a planetary system. By studying the interactions between these components, it is possible to unveil a system’s evolutionary history and to constrain what is and what is not missing in our understanding of that system. In this talk, I will provide a synthesized view of planetary systems, focusing on the relationship between stars, planets, and neighboring minor planets. I will draw from several subfields of planetary and exoplanetary science to consider how the interface between subfields – from protoplanetary disk imaging to asteroid occultations to stellar obliquities – can be utilized to develop a holistic understanding of planet formation and evolution.
