Emeritus Professor Tom Lubensky, was recently awarded the Pierre-Gilles de Gennes Prize of The International Liquid Crystal Society (ILCS). This award is the highest-ranking prize of ILCS and is awarded biannually. The Prize recognizes an individual who has made significant contributions to Liquid Crystals Across Disciplinary Borders, demonstrating the importance of liquid crystal concepts or technologies in various areas of science, technology and society at the highest level.
