It is a great pleasure to announce that Thomas Krane and Anshuman Pal, two of our physics seniors, are the recipients of the 2013 Rose Award from the Center for Undergraduate Research and Fellowships (CURF). Among 73 outstanding nominations, there were sixteen 2013 Rose Award recipients chosen.
Thomas received the award for the project under the direction of Prof. Sako, "Photometric Confirmation of High Redshift X-ray Bright Galaxy Clusters," and Anshuman for the project under the direction of Prof. Mele, "Nodal Surfaces in Photoemission from Twisted Bilayer Graphene," has been selected as one of the sixteen Rose Award recipients for 2013.
Both Thomas Krane and Anshuman Pal were recipients of the Roy and Diana Vagelos Science Challenge Award in 2012.
