Former Physics faculty member, John Schrieffer, passed away on July 27th at the age of 88. Prof. Schieffer shared the 1972 Nobel Prize in Physics with John Bardeen and Leon Cooper "for their jointly developed theory of superconductivity, usually called the BCS-theory."
